Journey

Elyx returns for an early evening in Africa Republic of Zambia before heading to Lebanon in the morning. Knowing Zambia to be a landlocked country in Southern Africa, Elyx journeys there by cloud.  On arrival, Elyx was welcomed by the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Lusaka who are keen on showing Elyx their activities and share the work of other UN teams in the field.

They first took Elyx to their facilities where Elyx met students that use the grounds to study and they share a but from their history lessons. Elyx learns that Zambia is rich in traditions and gained independence in 1964.

Elyx was also glad to learn that Zambia showed great interest in protecting the environment, having submitted its Climate Action Plan on Reducing Emissions ahead of Paris agreement well in advance.

Our digital ambassador also learned that Lusaka was one of the fastest-developing cities in Southern Africa, being the centre for both commerce and government in Zambia. Elyx was also told that the Secretariat of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) was there.

At the end of his journey, Elyx was happy to have been able to see how the country is making leaps and how the UN help.
